EASY STEPS TO GO BACK TO BASICS.

EASY STEPS TO GO BACK TO BASICS.

We live in a world that is high pressure, fast paced, rapid change, and competition. More and more we see people competing with each other placing more pressure and stress on themselves and their family. We see competition in business, in education, and in the family home. On a physical level we see more and more adrenally exhausted people, high stress, head tension and high cortisol levels and the need for external stimulants to keep us going. This energy creates disharmony in our very being. When we have the need to outsmart, out wit, out skill the next person we create an internal environment that is always on high alert.

How much better would our world be when we step into our own uniqueness and not try to be someone else? Just think about that for a moment what would your life look like if you didn’t have too have the best house in the street, the fastest car, the most amazing clothes, and you lived in the space of total appreciation for what you actually have right now in this moment of time. I am not saying that these material items are not to be had (I like these myself), however I am saying that if we only desire them to be better than someone else, we are creating an internal pressure cooker that does not serve us.

What matters most in your world, the opinion that others have of you or the opinion of what you have of you? We need to start focusing on and working through the opinion that we have about ourselves. Because we are so conditioned to care about what others think of us we create a life of stress and disharmony and that is not what we were created for. Each and every one of us brings a unique outlook and skill set into life that we know. And it’s time that we all step into our authentic self. Let go of the competition and the need to be a carbon copy of someone else, reconnect to our hearts space and clear out those limiting beliefs that keep us in a complicated, chaotic inner world. Once we recognize that our current internal environment is a magnet for our external environment we truly begin to step into a life of calm and balance. “Entire waters of the sea cannot sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, negativity of the world cannot put you down unless you allow it to get inside you” Anonymous

I would like to share with you a technique that has powerful calming benefits. This is a coherence exercise that helps you connect to your heart space, if you are stressed, acknowledge the feelings as soon as you sense that you are out of sync or engaged in common stresses such as frustration, impatience, anxiety, overload, anger, being judgmental, and mentally gridlocked etc.

Step one - focus on your heart space and take a breath, a little deeper and slower than usual focus on breathing through your heart or chest area.

Step two - imagine with each breath that you were drawing in a feeling of calm and in ease, making a sincere effort to activate a positive feeling like happiness joy and love etc. If it is difficult to find those feelings take your mind back to a place where you felt safe and calm, (a new puppy or a walk along the beach) and focus on that while you are breathing in and out from your heart space.

Step three - when the stressful feelings have calmed affirm with a heartfelt commitment that you want to anchor and maintain this state as you re-engage in your projects challenges or daily interactions. It is scientifically proven that radiating love and self-care through your system activates beneficial hormones and boosts your immunity. Practicing will increase your awareness of when the stressful emotion has calmed into a state of ease. The mind and emotions operate on a vibrational level. Slowing down the stressful vibration helps re-establish the cooperation and balance between heart and mind and emotions. Like an old electric fan that rattles until you turn it to slower speed, which often quiets and restores the unbalanced vibration.
