Loving the skin you are in
Getting comfortable with our bodies means that we need to accept we have actually chosen it for this lifetime. Of course that doesn’t mean that we won’t struggle, hate, or harm it in that process.
Fighting our body and not accepting our choice doesn’t help us in any way. Why don’t we feel love for our bodies? It’s because we don’t really love ourselves deep down. This is the catalyst. So we need to start there.
The minute that we begin to make loving choices with regards to how we treat our body, we begin to feel a difference in our energy, health and mental clarity. We find it easier to make those loving healthy choices with food and exercise because we are coming from a place of love, not hate.
With my past professional as a counsellor and now as a Lightworker Practitioner educator, I meet so many people who struggle with the body that they have chosen. They may feel too fat, skinny, ugly, short, tall or be in chronic physical pain. It doesn’t really matter because at the end of the day, we need to come to a place of peace and replace that hate with love.
If we focus on the imperfections we also distract ourselves from stepping into our light. Self-hate, self-harm and self-flagellation are all symptoms of a shame-based self that requires an injection of light and love to be transformed. When we do so, we are able to accept ourselves warts and all and not fear other people’s rejection of our light.
We are not the bodies we have chosen. We are so much more. So loving the body we have chosen assists us to ‘get on with it’. Yes! Get on with living the life you have chosen. Start loving, so you can start living.
